Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 in 1961) was an American actor. In the last decade she has been working on film and television. Her work has been recognized with many awards, including 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and fostered by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett as well as her younger sister who were about five years old, moved from New York to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. Bassett was in high school when she saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of becoming an actor had been born. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She earned a diploma from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies, 1980, Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grades) Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett is currently working as one of the main roles in the film Ramonda in the action movie i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
